Fantasy football experts have identified five players with long odds to score a touchdown in NFL Week 8. The selections include running backs Samaje Perine of the Cincinnati Bengals and Ollie Gordon II of the Miami Dolphins, as well as wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars. These bets are considered value plays because the implied probability of scoring is lower than the market average, offering higher payout potential for bettors who see specific lineup changes or defensive weaknesses.
Samaje Perine is priced at +210 to score against the Tennessee Titans. The Bengals' rushing attack ranks third worst in the league with 81.2 yards per game. Perine rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 after carrying the ball 14 times against the Miami Dolphins. He also caught a touchdown pass in that Miami game. With the Titans missing interior defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, Perine may see more touches, particularly on goal-line plays.
Braelon Allen of the New York Jets is available at +125. He is expected to assume a larger role after Breece Hall made a cryptic social media post. Allen is 22 years old and weighs 235 pounds. He has rushed for more than 100 yards in two of the last three weeks but has only one touchdown. The Jets face the Las Vegas Raiders, who possess the third-worst defense in the NFL. This matchup could provide Allen with opportunities to convert his yardage into scores.
Ollie Gordon II of the Dolphins is also priced at +125. He has rushed for a touchdown in four consecutive games. If he scores again, he will become the first Dolphins player since Karim Abdul-Jabbar in 1997 to achieve a five-game rushing touchdown streak. Gordon has recorded two 100-yard rushing games in his last three outings. His consistent production has made him a reliable option for bettors looking for a scorer on a hot team.
Tight end Chig Okonkwo of the Washington Commanders is a higher risk play at +310. With Terry McLaurin out for the season, Okonkwo is expected to see more targets. He was the leading receiver for the Tennessee Titans last year with 560 yards on 56 catches. He has gained at least 60 receiving yards in each of his last two games. Despite this volume, he has not yet caught a touchdown with Washington. His Sunday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles presents a chance to find the end zone.
Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars offers the longest odds at +330. He played only 15 snaps in his previous game. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said the team needs to put Thomas in the best position to make plays. Coen stated, "He's going to help us make plays this week. I know it." Thomas responded by saying, "I feel like I still know what I can do, I just have to go out there and do it." Thomas has caught nine passes for 105 yards and one touchdown in six games this season, a step back from his 2024 rookie year when he had 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Coen expressed excitement about attacking the defense with Thomas. The trade deadline approaches, and the Jaguars may look to showcase Thomas to maximize his value. The combination of coach support and player motivation creates a specific context for this long-shot bet. The other four selections rely on statistical trends and opponent weaknesses rather than single-game narrative shifts.
