New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson stated Wednesday that he wishes to remain with the team, but his patience with the offense is wearing thin.

Wilson addressed the media in Florham Park, New Jersey, to clarify his stance on the ongoing trade rumors. He confirmed that his preference is to stay in New York, but he emphasized that winning is his primary objective.

“Yeah, I want to be here, man,” Wilson said. “I want to win games and that’s the one thing we’ve been missing on here.” He acknowledged that his love for winning surpasses his love for the organization, noting that each loss feels more painful as he remains in the same situation.

The comments follow a 28-25 defeat to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, where Wilson was targeted only three times. He caught two passes for 26 yards, continuing a trend of limited involvement that began in the previous week’s loss to the New England Patriots.

Wilson signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension in mid-2025, keeping him under contract through 2030. That deal came just months after the Jets traded cornerback Sauce Gardner at the deadline, a move that occurred shortly after Gardner’s own extension. Currently, no indication suggests the Jets are looking to move Wilson, who leads the team with 37 receptions and 444 yards.

The trade deadline arrives on Nov. 10, adding urgency to Wilson’s comments about his desire for a winning environment. He described his frustration as stemming from a lack of impact rather than a desire to leave. “I’d be lying if I said it’s not [frustrating],” he said. “But at the end of the day it comes down to .. winning and losing.”

Coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Frank Reich have consistently stated their intention to target Wilson early and often. Quarterback Geno Smith echoed this strategy, though he noted the need to account for defensive adjustments. Smith said, “I’m looking to get him the football as much as I can, but I have to be mindful of what the defense is doing as well.”

The coaching staff suggests that Wilson draws extra coverage, which creates opportunities for other players. Wilson disputed this view, stating that he does not see opponents performing

superpowers to try and take me away.

He argued that defenders must prove they can cover him effectively if they are to earn the credit for limiting his production.

Wilson, a 26-year-old who was selected 10th overall in 2022, has watched the Jets compile a 24-41 record since entering the league. The team enters the next weekend with a 2-5 record, preparing to host the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold a 3-4 record.

Meanwhile, cornerback Nahshon Wright, a 2025 signee on a one-year, $3.5 million contract, expressed his own frustrations. Wright, who recorded five interceptions for the Chicago Bears last season, has not played a defensive snap this season. He missed training camp time due to injury and lost the starting spot to Azareye’h Thomas. Wright told reporters he is open to a trade, stating, “I just want to go where I can play.. I just want to contribute.”
