Megan Thee Stallion held her annual Halloween celebration, Hottieween, in Las Vegas on October 31, 2026. For this year's event, the rapper and actress wore a custom costume designed by Cirque du Soleil. The outfit fit the "Thee Circus is Coming" theme of the party. It combined orange, black, and white colors in a complex design that changed throughout the night.
The creation process began in New York City, where Megan visited the studio of costume designer Miodrag "Mio" Guberinic. Gabriel Dubé-Dupuis, the creative director for Cirque du Soleil, described the initial reaction to the mock-up. He stated that Megan was "like a kid" and "so excited" when she first saw the design. She immediately took photos and videos of herself in the garment before the team finalized the work.
The design process focused on allowing the costume to transform. Megan wanted an entrance look that grabbed attention and a later version suitable for partying with guests. Dubé-Dupuis noted that upon seeing the mock-up, Megan said, "I see myself in this. I see myself in this through the night." The team incorporated layers that allowed her to shed parts of the outfit as the evening progressed.
Megan also requested that the costume reveal more of her body. Guberinic explained that she wanted to appear sexier, so the designers adjusted the fit to show more skin. This request aligned with her public image and her desire for a "hot girl" take on horror themes, a concept she has discussed in previous interviews.
The final garment required extensive labor. More than 23 artists spent over 700 hours constructing the piece. They used more than 50 yards of fabric. The skirt featured jester faces that resembled scary pumpkins, a motif Megan has used in past social media posts for Halloween. The skirt consisted of 12 panels, each nearly six feet tall. It used more than 400 square feet of custom-printed, hand-painted material.
Technical details included 13 three-dimensional printed jester embellishments. The skirt also contained more than 50 magnets that allowed it to separate into four sections. An accordion sleeve was built from 120 individually patterned pieces, adding to the intricacy of the build. Guberinic described the design as a whimsical interpretation of iconic Cirque du Soleil pieces, tailored to Megan's world.
Megan launched the Hottieween event in 2019. She has since held the celebration in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston. Past costumes have included a talking flower from "Alice in Wonderland," Pinhead from "Hellraiser," Mirko from "My Hero Academia," and Greta from "Gremlins 2: The New Batch." She has cited her love for horror movies and thrillers as the inspiration for these choices.
Her career has remained active leading up to this year's event. In March, she made her Broadway debut in "Moulin Rouge! The Musical." She both performed and presented at the Tony Awards this year. In late October, she headlined the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She released an EP titled "Tina Tuesday Freestyles" in the week prior to Hottieween.
A portion of the proceeds from this year's Hottieween goes to the Pete & Thomas Foundation, which Megan established. The event continues its tradition of combining high-profile entertainment with charitable giving.
The costume design process is now complete, with the outfit having been worn at the Las Vegas venue. The next scheduled event for the Hottieween series has not been announced.
