Kamiak recorded 25 points in the final set of a three-game sweep over Mariner on Monday night in Mukilteo. The result secures a championship-clinching match for the Knights next week.
The Knights, who stand 11-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play, dropped only two sets in the series. They outscored the Marauders, 75-38, across the three games. The loss leaves Mariner at 9-9 on the season and 0-2 in the league.
Skyla Major led the offensive effort with eight aces. Kamiak recorded 19 total aces during the match. Madeline Soltau and Lily Anderson each recorded seven kills to support the attack. Mariner did not report individual statistics for the game.
The win positions Kamiak for a decisive contest against Lake Stevens. Lake Stevens won three games in its own Monday night match against Jackson. A victory next week would crown the Knights as league champions.
Other results in the Wesco 4A division included a three-game loss for Arlington to Glacier Peak. In the Emerald Sound conference, King's clinched the title with a four-game win over Cedar Park Christian. The Knights dropped the third set, 24-26, before taking the fourth, 25-12.
