The Israel Defense Forces announced on Monday that four terrorists from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad were killed in precision airstrikes over the weekend. The strikes targeted specific individuals and infrastructure across the Gaza Strip.
Sunday operations in northern, southern, and central Gaza resulted in the deaths of three operatives. The military identified two as members of the Islamic Jihad military wing: Alaa Abu Zaid and Hamdan Suleiman Ibrahim Abu Amra. The third was Fawzi Salam Odat Allah Sawarha, a Hamas sniper who directed fire at IDF troops. A separate Saturday strike in the north killed Muhammad Anan Muhammad Al-Rawaj, described by the army as the head of a Nukhba cell in Hamas.
The IDF stated these groups were working to restore combat capabilities and plan attacks on Israeli forces and civilians. The military claimed this activity violated the terms of the current ceasefire. In a distinct Sunday action, planes struck a sniper position in northern Gaza after identifying the structure as a threat.
In a separate Monday announcement, the army detailed a strike on three terrorists in the Khan Yunis area. Troops observed the fighters emerging from a tunnel shaft beyond the yellow line in the southern sector. After the initial airstrike, additional explosions occurred, which the IDF attributed to weapons stored inside the tunnel.
The military said it used precision munitions and aerial surveillance to limit civilian harm. Forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area to enforce operational agreements and eliminate ongoing threats.
