Jackson Chourio reached base four times on Monday night as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1. The victory gives the Brewers a 3-0 lead in the World Series. It also marks the first time the franchise has held such a lead in its 57-year history.

The 22-year-old outfielder recorded a quarter of Milwaukee's 16 hits. He became the first 22-year-old in 80 years to collect four hits in a World Series game. Chourio started a fifth-inning rally with a single up the middle. He finished the same inning with a double into the right-center gap.

Chourio has now hit safely in all three games of this series. He has collected eight hits total. The Brewers' offense has shown consistency, overcoming a four-run deficit in Game 2 and blitzing Tampa Bay pitcher Nick Martinez in the first inning of Game 1.

Hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach called Chourio a kid who could still be playing college baseball. The coach noted the player's youth compared to the pressure of the moment. Chourio said he focuses on maintaining calm and thinking about positive results. He acknowledged the high expectations from both fans and himself.

Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold described Chourio as a superstar emerging in real time. Arnold was the general manager when the team signed Chourio out of Venezuela at age 16 in 2021. He cited the player's efficient swing and fast hands as early indicators of his potential.

Field coordinator Nestor Corredor has coached Chourio in the Venezuelan winter league and the World Baseball Classic. Corredor said Chourio recently adjusted his approach to reduce anxiety. The outfielder began working counts more effectively and shortening his swing. He dismantled the Rays with a series of low line drives.

Statistical data shows the league's on-base plus slugging average is 39 points higher in the regular season than in the postseason. Chourio's numbers invert this trend. His regular-season OPS from 2024 to 2026 is .799. His postseason OPS for the same period is .882. He became the first player with three consecutive seasons of 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases before turning 23.

Backup catcher Gary Sanchez said Chourio appears to enjoy these high-pressure moments more than regular-season games. Captain Christian Yelich described Chourio as having a slow heartbeat that thrives in the spotlight. Right fielder Sal Frelick said such performances are now expected from the rookie.

Chourio's family has deep ties to professional sports and specific athletes. His younger brother, Jaison, plays in the Cleveland Guardians system. Chourio's middle name is Bryan, honoring Kobe Bryant. He has read Bryant's autobiography and tries to adopt aspects of his mental approach. Chourio noted that unlike Bryant, he has adapted to the playoffs early in his career.

The Brewers travel to play the Rays for Game 4. A win in that game would clinch the World Series for Milwaukee. Chourio said the success of the team around him helps him perform without feeling like he must be the sole hero.
