Netflix will premiere its limited series adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' on December 3. The six-part production stars Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy. The streamer released the first trailer on October 28.
The series adapts the 1813 novel, which follows the developing romance between the two title characters in 19th-century England. The project is described as a faithful interpretation of the source material. Dolly Alderton, the author of 'Everything I Know About Love,' wrote the script. Euros Lyn, who directed the series 'Heartstopper,' serves as the showrunner.
Olivia Colman portrays Mrs. Bennet in the cast. Rufus Sewell plays Mr. Bennet, while Freya Mavor takes on the role of Jane Bennet. Jamie Demetriou appears as Mr. Collins. Daryl McCormack is cast as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge plays Mr. Wickham.
Rhea Norwood portrays Lydia Bennet. Siena Kelly plays Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw appears as Lady Catherine de Bourg. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery make their acting debuts as Mary Bennet and Kitty Bennet, respectively.
The ensemble includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, and Justin Edwards. Other cast members are James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon. Corrin serves as an executive producer alongside Laura Lankester, Alderton, Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter. Lisa Osborne is credited as producer.
