Nine locations in Marion County closed their early voting operations on Sunday. These sites operated for 10 days ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
The Supervisor of Elections Center in Ocala served as the primary hub. Public libraries in Belleview and Dunnellon also accepted ballots. Community centers in Reddick and Silver Springs Shores completed the list of nine voting spots.
Voters could cast their ballots at any of these nine locations during the early window. Abigail Jackson, a local voter, cited convenience as her reason for voting before Tuesday. She stated she wanted to ensure she was early rather than late and did not wish to procrastinate.
Annelise Gomez described bringing her daughter to the polls to teach her about civic duty. Gomez emphasized the importance of selecting leaders who represent everyone and promote inclusion and diversity.
For those who did not vote early, the rules change on Election Day. Residents must go to their specific assigned precinct. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
