Thirteen people died when a Russian jet-powered drone struck the platform of a railway station in Dnipro on October 29. At least five others sustained injuries. Medics are currently treating the wounded.

Ukrzaliznytsia, the state railway operator, confirmed that the strike hit one of the station's platforms. Train No. 866, running from Dnipro to Zaporizhzhia, was stopped nearby at the time of the impact. Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia, noted that an air-raid warning had been issued before the explosion. He added that a high number of people were present on the platform when the drone hit.

Borys Filatov, the mayor of Dnipro, described the incident as a tragedy involving a civilian electric train. He urged officials to avoid labeling such strikes as merely attacks on infrastructure facilities. Filatov stated, "This is a genocidal war. Have the guts to say things as they are."

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, initially reported that Russian forces targeted transport infrastructure and left people injured. He later updated the casualty count to confirm the thirteen deaths. Hanzha specified that the victims were on the platform near the stationary train.

The strike occurred while a 15-year-old girl was being treated for injuries sustained in a separate Russian attack on the nearby city of Pavlohrad. That incident also took place in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the same day.
